A THOUGH ON A VERY SIGNIFICANT DAY OF MY LIFE

It was seventy years ago that two very innocent people headed for the Salt Lake Temple to be married for time and all eternity.  We had no money or resources so we traveled with the mother of the bride in her car to our destination. I don’t remember anything about the endowment ceremony, but I do remember the sealing ordinance and kissing my bride across the alter.  That has been a lifetime ago. Now here I am in a strange city, alone now for six years after the passing of my sweet bride in 2013. I’m 92 years old now working toward 93. How much longer the Lord will permit me to live on this earth is according to his plan.  Since the passing of my sweet wife, the Lord has watched over me and helped me to repent of my sins and to experience what it is like to live alone. He has answered my prayers and directed my life in every way. I was guilty many times of causing my wife to live alone during our marriage due to my selfishness with time and work.  Now I know the meaning, “it is not good for man to live alone”.

These are some thoughts that came across my mind as I head to work in my shop and attend the temple.
